Mozilla has released a stable version of Firefox 81. It will be distributed using Firefox update slowly. If the update is still not available in your browser, you can download and update the browser manually.
Seven vulnerabilities have been fixed. Four of them were classified as “high”.

- You can pause and play audio or video data on Firefox directly from your keyboard or headset. This allows you to easily access control of your media if you are in another Firefox tab or program, or even if your computer is locked.
- In addition to our standard, dark, and bright themes, Firefox introduces the Alpenglow theme with this release: a colorful look for buttons, menus, and windows. You can update your Firefox topics under Settings and Preferences.
- For our users in the U.S. and Canada, Firefox can now store, manage, and automatically fill out credit card information for you, making shopping with Firefox even more convenient. In order to ensure the smoothest possible flow, this is gradually extended to the users.
- Firefox supports AcroForm, which allows you to fill out, print, and save supported PDF forms soon, and the PDF viewer also has a new, fresh look.
- Our users in Austria, Belgium and Switzerland who use the German version of Firefox will now see in their new Tab Pocket recommendations some of the best stories on the web. If you don’t see them, you can activate the Pocket items in your new tab by following these steps. In addition to Firefox’s new tab, Pocket is also available as an app on iOS and Android.
- We’ve fixed an issue for language pack users who reset the default language in English after Firefox updates.
- Browser-native HTML5 audio/video controls received several important accessibility fixes:
- Audio/video controls remain accessible to screen readers even when they are temporarily visually hidden.
Elapsed audio/video duration and total time are now accessible to screen readers where they were not previously available. - Several unlabeled controls are now labeled, so they are identifiable for screen readers.
Screen readers no longer report progress information intrusively unless the user requests it.

- Soon you’ll find Picture-in-Picture easier on all the videos you’re watching with the new image icon.
- The bookmark toolbar now pops up automatically when bookmarks are imported into Firefox, making it easier to find your most important web pages.
- We’ve expanded our supported file types—.xml, .svg, and .webp—so that files you’ve downloaded can be opened directly in Firefox.
