Microsoft Office 15 and IE 10 Release Dates And Roadmaps Leaked

Microsoft has not made it clear about the probable release dates of its products that are under active development including Office 15, IE 10, Windows 8 and Windows Phone. The roadmap of the release of these products was shared by Microsoft with its partners in December last year but it was confidential and was not made public. But Maarten Visser has leaked the screenshots of the roadmap of Microsoft products and share them publicly on Twitter.

The leaked roadmap gives an idea about Microsoft products release dates and cycles from 2011 to 2014. Let’s first take a look at Microsoft Windows and Windows Phone roadmap.

Microsoft offical Windows roadmap 2011-2014

Here’s the roadmap key to identify the milestones:

The release cycle of Windows does not provide a lot of information. We can see the release of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8 Developer Preview. There is not mention of Windows 8 Consumer Preview as it was later released on 29th of February 2012. After that the roadmap mentions the end of support for Windows XP. The other Microsoft products for which the roadmap mentions are Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance, Windows Intune, Internet Explorer 10 and Windows Server. It is not clear whether the roadmap is talking about Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 8.

According to the roadmap, Internet Explorer 10 will be released somewhere in the middle of this year in the summers. The most probably release date is with the release of Windows 8 RC.

According to the roadmap, the new version of Windows Phone is scheduled to be released at the end of 2012.

The next roadmap that was leaked is of Microsoft Office 15, Office 365, SharePoint and Exchange. Let’s take a look at the roadmap:

Official Microsoft Office Product roadmap 2011-2014

According to the roadmap, the RTM version of Office 15 is scheduled to be release in early 2013. It seems that Office 15, Office 365, SharePoint and Exchange will be released in the same month in early 2013. Microsoft Visio and Project will also be released with Office 15.

One thing to be noted is that the leaked roadmaps are only estimates and may change as the product nears release date. For Example, this roadmap does not mention the release of Windows 8 Consumer Preview but it was released earlier this year.
