Tracking protection is disabled by default. If you want to enable it, follow the steps below:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to Tools -> Tracking Protection
- Click on Your Personalized list
If you have other lists installed, you can select any list to enable it.
- Click on Enable button on the bottom right of the windows to enable the selected list.
If you want to manually add any website in the tracking protection list, you can do so by going to Settings (in the same Tracking Protection window). You can allow or block websites from the Settings window.
Internet Explorer 9 automatically suggest the websites that you have already visited and that track user data to be blocked. If you don’t want to build your own list, Microsoft has provided some lists on their IE9 test drive page. The following lists are available:
- EASY LIST
- PRIVACY CHOICE
You can go to the Tracking Protection Lists page and click on Add TPL to add the list of your choice to your Tracking Protection List.
