We have been reviewing the best Windows 7 themes since the beginning of Technize.NET. We keep on installing new themes that look interesting and ultimately get full with installed themes. There should be a way to uninstall or delete a theme from Windows 7 so that we can keep our computer clean.
If you want to delete or uninstall a Windows 7 theme, there are a few simple steps that you have to follow:
- Go to Control Panel –> Appearance and Personalization –> Change the theme. You can also right click Desktop and select Personalize to get the same window. All the themes that you have installed will be shown in this window.
- Right click the theme that you want to uninstall and select Delete theme
- This will delete the theme files from the computer. The Windows 7 themes are usually stored in the following folder:
Replace username with your Windows username by which you have logged on.
Please note that you will not be able to delete a theme that is active. You will need to activate another theme in order to delete an already active theme.
You will not be able to delete Windows 7 default themes which are pre-installed in Windows.
