EASIS Drive Check is a very powerful yet simple tool to check the health of any external hard drive or even a USB Flash drive. Checking your drives regularly will make sure that you know when and why a hard drive or a USB drive could fail and then take measures to backup data from the storage device which is not functioning properly.
EASIS Drive Check can perform two test to diagnose media failure ahead of time and give you some time to backup your data. If you’re using an internal hard drive, you can read out the values of S.M.A.R.T. which is an intelligent system of the hard drive to check its health included in most modern hard drives. EASIS Drive Check can check more than 40 values for you so that you may be able to decide whether the hard drive needs replacement or is in good condition.
The S.M.A.R.T. value check can be performed on the S.M.A.R.T. enabled devices which does not usually include USB drives etc. You can read about how you can interpret the values provided by EASIS Drive Check and then analyze the health of your media. It will automatically detect the media connected to the system. Double clicking on any of the media drive will take you to the two button interface. One button is for requesting S.M.A.R.T. value of the drive if it supports it and the second button is for Each Sector Surface Test.
While usage of EASIS Drive Check is very simple, it can only be used on Intel systems. The supported Operating Systems include Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
