Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1)

by in Microsoft on April 21, 2011

If you are a network administrator and are responsible for handling a Windows network then you’ll probably need to do different functions on the servers. It’s very hard and time-consuming to go to every server machine physically and perform the function. Instead, you can install remote server administration tools on your client machine and control the servers right from your seat.

Remote Server Administration Tool for Windows 7 is a collection of tools that you can install on your client computer running Windows 7 and control all the roles and features installed on the server machines running Windows 2008 Server or Windows 2003 Server. As these tools are only required for office networks, you can’t install these tools on Windows 7 Editions other than Windows 7 Enterprise, Professional and Ultimate editions.

So now forget about using the slow Remote Desktop Connection or even physically going to the server machine and create a new user in Windows Active Directory, download Remote Server Administration Tools and install them on your own computer running Windows 7 SP1 and run the administration from there.
